Everyone’s story looks simple from the outside, but looks can be deceiving.
For people who have never had to deal with substance abuse, it can seem like the achievements of sober people aren’t that hard to achieve. It might look easy to just stop using drugs and alcohol, (especially when they’re hurting you) but for people who deal with addiction, the battle for sobriety never ends. There’s always that constant fear and temptation of relapsing.
For some people who are trying to maintain their sobriety, every time they feel depressed, lost or confused, they’ll strongly consider going back to their old vices just to deal with their emotional pain.
A sober life might seem like any easy one for some, but sobriety is something you get, it’s something you have to earn through hard work and determination.
