Sobriety through LDS Hope, Integrity, and Belief

sobriety through ldsThe Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints offers a message of support and healing

Your personal will is a strong force against drug addiction, but drug addiction is a powerful and determined foe. Many people feel as though they should be able to overcome addiction alone, but there is no reason to go it alone when you can recover with help from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints referred to commonly as LDS and from Christ.

Whether you are living in a sober living environment or undergoing treatment, sobriety is easier with the help of LDS and Jesus Christ. You can connect with Jesus Christ by reading the bible, visiting an LDS place of worship, making a commitment to a 12-step program, or simply praying to God and asking for his help as you walk the path toward sobriety.

Integrity, hope, and belief are the three most important treasures that LDS and Jesus Christ can nurture within you as you head down the road toward sobriety.

Hope within LDS

According to Webster’s, HOPE is “to wish for something with expectation of its fulfillment” or “to look forward to with confidence or expectation.”

As you can see, hope is more than wishing. Hoping expects fulfillment of wishes. The LDS treasure of hope sober mormonprovides light where doubt is dark. When you hope for sobriety, you prepare the path toward success. Through LDS you allow Jesus Christ to enter your life, which you have lost power over, take control, and help you heal in body, mind, and soul.

LDS encourages you to live with INTEGRITY, a “firm adherence to a code or standard of values.”

By living with integrity, you build strength of purpose and enable Jesus Christ to work through you as you make healthier decisions. You admit to yourself and to others within the LDS community that you have lost control over your life and acknowledge that only God is capable of returning you to complete and enduring good health.

Believe in LDS

BELIEF is “the mental act, condition, or habit of placing trust or confidence in a person or thing.”

LDS Addiction Recovery The most powerful LDS support for your sobriety is belief. When you allow yourself to believe in God’s omniscient power, you can have confidence in your ability to overcome addiction and live a healthier life. Belief is not a one-time event. It is a “condition” or “habit” that allows you to reach your potential by releasing you of negative thought patterns that have hurt you in the past.

With hope, integrity and belief, you can become your best self. Your LDS family can help you develop these treasures as you move toward a happier and healthier life.
